Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She also works as an actor and producer. Her role as the main character in TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The seventh season of the series was concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her role as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was awarded an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick as a venture investor. Her mother, who was Jewish was of English and Episcopalian origins. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish roots and stated that she is a part of Passover seders.
